Designing the Vision

The Why

Millersville University Athletics was planning a new athletic facility and sought environmental graphics that would energize the space and reflect school pride. The work needed to support a bid-phase project and help stakeholders visualize the potential of the finished environment.

The Challenge

The building had not yet been constructed, requiring all design decisions to be made using blueprints and architectural renderings. The graphics needed to feel bold and cohesive while remaining flexible across more than 40 individual spaces.

The Approach

As lead designer and project lead, I established a scalable graphic system that could adapt across locker rooms, training spaces, and common areas. I worked closely with architectural partners to identify high-impact moments and ensure placement, scale, and pacing were considered early.

Once the visual direction was set, I oversaw the design and production teams to ensure clarity, consistency, and alignment throughout.

The Outcome

The design system successfully supported the project bid and helped stakeholders visualize a dynamic, brand-forward athletic environment. While the build did not move forward due to budget constraints, the athletics department responded positively to the clarity and energy of the proposed designs.
